Repent In Dust And Ashes

Job 42: 2-6

I know, LORD that you are all-powerful; that you can do everything you want.

You ask how I dare questions your wisdom when I am so very ignorant.

I talked about things I did not understand, about marvels too great for me to know.

You told me to listen while you spoke and to try to answer your questions.

In the past I knew only what others had told me, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.

So I am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashes.

Hebrews 6: 13

When GOD made His promise to Abraham, He made a vow to do what He had promised.

Abraham was patient, and so he received what GOD had promised.

To those who were to receive what He promised, GOD wanted to make it clear that He would never change His purpose; so He added His vow to the promise.

Hebrews 8: 7

If there had been nothing wrong with the first covenant, there would have been no need for a second one.

But GOD finds fault with His people when He says,

“The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will draw up a new covenant with the people of Israel, and with the people of Judah.

It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors on the day I took them by the hand and led them out of Egypt.

They were not faithful to the covenant I made with them, and so I paid no attention to them.

Now, this is the covenant that I will make with the people of Israel in the days to come, says the LORD:

I will put my laws in their minds and write them down on their hearts.

I will be their GOD, and they will be my people.

None of them will have to tell their neighbors, ‘Know the LORD!’ For they will know Me from the least to the greatest.

I will forgive their sins and will no longer remember their wrongs.”

Hebrews 9: 1, 10, 14-15, 24-25, 28

The first covenant had rules for worship and a place made for worship as well.

These are all outward rules, which apply only until the time when GOD will establish the new order.

Christ has already come as the High Priest of the good things that are already here.

Through the eternal Spirit He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to GOD.  His blood will purify our consciences from useless rituals, so that we may serve the living GOD.

For this reason Christ is the one who arranges a new covenant, so that those who have been called by GOD may receive the eternal blessings that GOD has promised.

Christ did not go into a Holy Place made by human hands.  He went into heaven itself, where He now appears on our behalf in the presence of GOD.

Christ did not go in to offer Himself many times.  He has appeared once and for all to remove sin through the sacrifice of Himself.

He will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are waiting for Him.

Praised the LORD.
