He Is Alive

Mark 16: 5-7

They entered the tomb, where they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe- and they were alarmed.

“Don’t be alarmed, I know you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth- He has been raised! Look here is where He was placed.

Now go and give this message to his disciples, including Peter: ‘ He is going to Galilee ahead of you: there you will see Him, just as He told you.'”

Matthew 28: 1-10

After the Sabbath, as Sunday morning was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

Suddenly there was a violent earthquake; an angel of the LORD came down from heaven, rolled the stone away, and sat on it.

His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

The guards were so afraid that they trembled and became like dead men.

The angel spoke to the women. ” You must not be afraid.  I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here, He has been raised. just as He said.  Come here and see the place where He was lying.

Go quickly now, and tell his disciples, ‘ He has been raised from death, and now He is going to Galilee ahead of you; there you will see Him!’ Remember what I have told you.”

Luke 24: 1-7

Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, carrying the spices they have prepared.

They found the stone rolled away from the entrance to the tomb, so they went in; but they did not find the body of the LORD Jesus.

They stood there puzzled about this, when suddenly two men in bright shining clothes stood by them.

Full of fear, the women bowed down to the ground, as the men said to them, “Why are you looking among the dead for one who is alive?

He is not here; He has been raised.  Remember what He said to you while He was in Galilee?

‘ The Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, be crucified, and three days later rise to life.'”

John 20: 1-10

Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken away from the entrance.

She went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved and told them, ” They have taken the LORD from the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put Him!”

Then Peter and the other disciple went to the tomb.  The two of them were running, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first.

He bent over and saw the linen cloths; but he did not go in.

Behind him came Simon Peter, and he went straight into the tomb.  He saw the linen clothes lying there and the cloth which had been around Jesus’ head. It was not lying with the linen clothes but was rolled up by itself.

Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in; he saw and believed.

Then the disciples went back home.

John 20: 11-18

Mary stood crying outside the tomb.  While she was still crying, she bent over and looked in the tomb and saw two angels there dressed in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been, one at the head and the other at the feet.

“Woman, why are you crying?” they asked her.

She answered, “They have taken my LORD away, and I do not know where they have put him!”

Then she turned around and saw Jesus standing there; but she did not know it was Jesus.

“Woman, why are you crying? Jesus asked her. ” Who is it that you are looking for?”

She thought he was the gardener, so she said to him, ” If you took him away sir, tell me where you have put him, and I will go get him.”

Jesus said to her, ” Mary!”

She turned toward her and said in Hebrew, ” Rabboni!” (This means “Teacher.”)

” Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet gone back up to the Father.  But go to my brothers and tell them that I am returning to Him who is my Father and their Father, my GOD and their GOD.”

Acts 1: 3

For forty days after Jesus’ death, He appeared to his apostles many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that He was alive.

Praised the LORD!
