Father In Heaven

Matthew 5: 15- 16

No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead it is put on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house.

In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5: 44-45

But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

so that you may become the children of your Father in heaven.  For He makes His sun shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil.

Matthew 6: 1, 8-10

“Make certain you do not perform your religious duties in public so that people will see what you do.  If you do these things publicly, you will not have any reward from your Father in heaven.”

Your Father already knows what you need before you ask him.  This then, is how you should pray:

‘ Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored; may your kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…

Matthew 7: 11, 21

As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children.  How much more, then will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

“Not everyone who calls me ‘LORD, LORD’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do…

Matthew 12: 50

Whoever does what my Father in heaven wants is my brother, my sister, and my mother.

Matthew 16: 17

“Good for you, Simon son of John!” answered Jesus. “For this truth did not come to you from any human being, but it was given to you directly by my Father in heaven…

Matthew 18: 10, 14, 19-20

“See that you don’t despise any of these little ones.  Their angels in heaven, I tell you are always in the presence of my Father in heaven.

In just the same way your Father in heaven does not want any of these little ones to be lost.

And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them.”

Matthew 23: 9-10, 11-12

And you must not call anyone here on earth ‘Father,’ because you have only the one Father in heaven.

Nor should you be called ‘Leader,’ because your one and only leader is the Messiah.

The greatest among you must be your servant.

Whoever makes himself great will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be made great.
